Medicare Spending $9 Billion on Medications for Hepatitis C

(NYC Today) According to new government figures released, Medicare will double its investment on breakthrough medications for hepatitis C to about $9 billion. Next week, the federal Department of Health and Human Services will hold a public forum to examine the high cost of new drugs for difficult diseases.
Biggest challenge for the government is to cope up with the drug company research while keeping process of the innovative medications at affordable prices for patients, insurers, employers and government programs.
